After touching down safely in Singapore on the 7th January, One Way attended press conference session with the various media for a slight introduction and Q&A session. They took every question with open arms and answered to them enthusiastically.

Here are the questions they answered to:

1. Unique greeting for Singapore fans, a short rap or maybe acapella. They ended up doing something for the press instead.

2. There are so many Korean Band/Groups in Korea, so how do you make yourselves stand out from the others?

People view us as a musician, artistes first. Not some kind of icon, so that is some kind of strength. The most important difference is that we make our own songs ourselves, so we can show more colours in us, have more freedom in music. One way is all about the music itself.

3. How about image?
Sometimes we look very normal as compared to other singers, but i guess that is just how we are. We are 3 dudes who like music, we present ourselves very freely. But dont get me wrong, i mean we still do dress up nicely, it’s just that we do R&B hip hop style, we try to put that flavour in and present ourselves this way, that makes us closer to fans. They can just tweet us on twitter without any pressure.

4. Where do you get your inspirations from?
It comes from everyday lives, we’re story tellers. We tend to write on something that actually happened. The songs have ups and downs because it’s just how life goes. Through songs we express ourselves more, we put our unique feels to it. It can come anytime, like when we’re eating or when we wake up in the middle of the night so we always have a recording device next to us so we can record it.

5. What does One Way mean to you?
One Way means 3 and that’s us and of course music. We are one a One Way direction we head in life, it all leads to music. We all came from different places but we have that one vision one goal and that is to keep doing music.

6. Who are some of your music influences?
Chance: D’Angelo, Writers like Neyo
Young Sky: I started off with classical music, so i must say Mozart is one of my top influences. Now that i got into hip hop, it’s a totally different direction, and some of these influences are like Fo’Real, Timberland.
Peter: Song writing: Musiq Soulchild, stage presence: Michael Jackson

As a group I must say that we listen to other groups. In Korea such as Epik High, Drunken Tiger. They stay through the music and that is what we are trying to do.

7. If someone wants to know One Way, what song would you introduce to them?
Rainy Days! Cause it’s out now. (laughs) U Drag, a song we made in out first EP & we made a sequal, it kind of talks about random stuff. The whole music style is us. & the one in our new music album is New Drag. So if you guys want to know more about us these are some of the tracks you should check out.

8. Who are some of the other artistes you would like to work with? (A question by MKP)
Peter: I’ve always like this artistes, I’ve always liked her since she debuted, her name is IU. (Sky starts laughing) her vocal styles and everything, she is talented and is a very good musician.

Chance: My respect to Brown Eyed Soul. Compared to them we are just babies, they have been through so much longer and harder time in the music industry and we would like to follow their steps.

Young Sky: I’m a rapper so i’ll say Dynamic Duo. Personal opinion is that they are the best artistes in Korea.

9. Any special items you collect?
Chance: Shoes
Young Sky: I’m a animation freak, i collect those plastic figurines at home, like Gundam. I’ve got 20 of them at home. (Peter: He really does have 20 of them, it’s ridiculous, laughs) (Chance: Barbies, nah i’m kidding)
Peter: We collect alot of CDs, old records.
Chance: Like those old music equipments. I think the most amount of money we spend on is to buy new gears for our studio.
People who have seen our studio through our MV, facebook, twitter would have seen these equipments.

10. How did you guys get together for One Way? & Can you guys describe each other in one sentence?
Young Sky: I went to Australia & i went to middle school with Peter, then i moved to USA, LA then i met Chance in High School. We all separately went to Korea but we met there. I introduced Chance to Peter, decided to make a group.
Chance: Describing us, our personality + taste + characters + everything = one word, Random.
People dont understand us. In one sentence, One Way, One Sound.

11. Do you have any crazy fan encounters?
Chance: I have a fan who messages me, there are some really funny jokes which she will share with me. There was this one time she sent me : I think of you even when I use the bathroom. That kind of was very shocking.

We had fans in USA who took the One Way sign off the highway and gave it to us. Fans makes us happy an bottom line, without them, we’re nothing.

12. So do you guys hang up the sign?
Yes, we use it everywhere. In our videos, pictures. It’s always behind us.

13. Is this your first time in Singapore and what have you heard about Singapore before you came?
It’s actually Peter’s third time in Singapore, but it’s One Way’s first time here. Before we came we came we heard that it was hot, and you guys have great food, alot of  malls. Singapore was really clean. You guys have strict laws to be honest.

14. What do hope to experience this time round in Singapore?
As long as we see our fans I think it would be the best experience. This time, we just wanna have fun. Leave a very good impression of our group that we are musicians.

15. Can you talk about your relationship with 2PM’s Junsu?
Young Sky: I was a trainee in JYP when i met Junsu. I went out of JYP but we’re still friends, it’s been like 5 years now, we just go out, chill and have coffee. He’s a really great vocalist.

Chance: One thing which we havent actually talked about is that we have already recorded the song Rainy Days and everything, Junsu really liked the song and had a really big interest in that song and at the last minute we told him “Hey, we need your vocals on this” & we got him to the studio and that’s how we got to the final piece.

16. Any plan on working TV Dramas or Movies?
If there are opportunities, it’s a yes. We think our limits are quite open. (YoungSky: I acted a little in Rainy Days MV and it was a good experience. It felt really good.)
