Hosted out of South Korea for the second time, 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards(MAMA) is jointly organized by CJ&EM and Vizpro and was held in Singapore’s Singapore Indoor Stadium this year. With 1.9 billion viewers worldwide, MAMA was broadcasted live in 13 countries and on 10 online channels like Youtube, Facebook, Xinmsn and Sohu.com. Not only that, other than big names from Korea like Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, 2NE1, Beast and so on, artistes from Japan, China and even the United States gathered in Singapore for this occasion.

With the Red Carpet event beginning at 4pm and the Award show starting at 6pm it was a 6 hour-long star-studded event. With special performances all lined up, it was indeed a show not to be missed. YB, Dynamic Duo & Simon D’s special collaboration for MAMA’s opening stage hyped up the crowd before Lee Byun Hyun announced the official opening of Mnet Asian Music Awards 2011.

In between the issuing of awards, more special performances were put up by various artistes. Pianist Lang Lang did a special collaboration with Beast, not forgetting Trouble Maker’s special smoking hot stage. Miss A and Wei Chen both incorporated martial arts into their performances, creating a Chinese feel to the entire performance. Koda Kumi proved to the crowd why she is the hottest Asian artist with her powerful and daring dance moves. Ulala Session put up a series of performances demonstrating how versatile their vocals are. CL of 2NE1 put up an amazing performance with will.i.am and apl.de.ap leaving the crowd wanting more. Being the highlights of the night, Girls’ Generation, Super Junior and 2NE1 all put up their best performances with special remixes as well as surprise events.
