111129 Mnet Asian Awards Post Event Press Conference
With Mnet Asian Music Awards(MAMA) ending successfully at Singapore Indoor Stadium, the media managed to meet 3 of the biggest winners of the night, namely Girls’ Generation, Super Junior and 2NE1, for a short Post Event Press Conference. Read up on what are some of their thought and plans for 2012!
Artiste of the Year – Girls’ Generation
Being the most popular girl group of the Hallyu wave, their popularity exceeds South Korea as fans from all over the world flock to simply catch a glimpse of them no matter which country they are in. Looking at just Singapore, Girls’ Generation Tour was extremely well received with 2 fully sold out concerts which will also be held at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Elated to be MAMA’s Artiste of the Year, the girls expressed their gratitude towards their fans for their continuous support, as they felt that they would not be able to be where they are now without their fans love and support. Girls’ Generation is currently in the midst of having their Asian tour, and they hope that they to be able to do a World tour soon in order to meet and thank their fans from all over the world for all the love they have been giving them all these while. During the Asian tour, other than their hit songs, they will also be showcasing different sides of all 9 members through their solo performances.

Album of the Year – Super Junior (Mr Simple)
Receiving lots of love from fans all over the world, Super Junior has melted hearts not only in South East Asia, but also in United States as well as Europe with the various characters and images they are able to pull through be it their albums, radio shows, variety shows or musicals.
Receiving a major award on the MAMA stage once again, Super Junior members were in tears of joy upon receiving the award. As compared to when they received the Best New Artiste Award 5 years ago on the same stage, the tears from then were from all the hardship and difficulties they went through before their debut as they had no idea when or even who they were going to debut with. However this time, it was from what they have accomplished so far and also due to the many ups and downs which took place during their journey.
When asked on how they were going to share the award, Lee Teuk replied that the award was given not to individuals but to Super Junior as a whole, thus they would be placing it in their company where all their awards are kept. Lee Teuk also mentioned that there was once when he checked up on the ticket rates of their concerts online and found out that there were people who inflated their ticket prices and thus they feel that they should always put in their best effort so that it will be worth the price. However, he also hope that ticket rates will always stay reasonable and affordable for all their fans.

Song of the Year – 2NE1 ( I Am The Best)
With their ever-changing style and music directions, their adventurous and daring styles and images never fail to amaze the fans. 2NE1 walked away with Song of the Year award for their catchy tune, I Am The Best.
On the question of why people like listening to Kpop music despite being unable to understand anything from it, CL expressed that there is no language barrier in music, you can feel and connect to it just by listening to it or even watching their performances. Which was very well said as indeed, even from MAMA’s slogan this year, “Music Makes One” we can see that people from all over the world can connect with music no matter which country you are from or even the languages your speak.
When asked on their plans next year, 2NE1 states that they are currently promoting in Japan but they hope to be able to release a new album next year and hopefully have another concert tour. On CL’s solo performance with will.i.am, CL mentioned that she had a lot of fun on stage despite it being the first time she performed without her members. Park Bom added on that watching the performance at the side felt like being in a club and they all really enjoyed it.
