The Corner Place Korean BBQ (길목)
Heading there late evening on a weekday, the wait before being attended to was short as we were led to a table. The setting of the restaurant is similar to those you see in Korea, with wooden furniture and plants. There are also 2 large screen televisions playing live programs like music shows, awards shows and even variety shows, creating a very lively atmosphere.
An interesting note on the grill plate was that it was tilted, allowing excess oil to flow towards a separate section of the grill plate. Other than that, the service staff also made it a point to change the aluminum foil regularly before it gets all charred. However, plates on the table ended up being stacked up rather high and wasn’t cleared until we left.
Moving on to the main reason you’ll be there, food. With a wide variety of sauces, you can be sure there will be something that suits your taste. Some of the sauces include BBQ Sauce, Ssam Jang, and more. What would be complete at a bbq without some lettuce? Fresh lettuces are also available in the fridge for you to wrap it with your rice, meat and sauces!
Other than the usual marinated meat like your usual Bulgogi, Samgyupsal, my personal favourite was the LA Galbi. There are also Sanma fish and fresh prawns available at the same section together with some light salad mix. On the other side, you’ll find some typical Korean dishes like Ddeokbokgi, Chapjae, Kimchi Fried Rice as well some random fried food. Rice & Soup are also available. There was also an area for fruits like pineapple, peach and watermelon, however only the watermelons were freshly cut, the peaches and pineapple slices looked pretty much like the canned ones you see at the local super markets. As for the drinks, there is quite a variety from your normal soft drinks to beer and soju.
In a nutshell, The Corner Place Korean BBQ is pretty much just another Korean BBQ restaurant you see around. However the service there is relatively good and it is a good place for group gatherings. With the buffet price ranging from $22 onward, do drop by to give it a try!
